Don't use any shady tactics that will get you into hot water like sneaky redirects, content cloaking, and so on. Don't commit the cardinal sin of letting dots ruin your page descriptions Internal linking is the process of linking one page to another on your site. This is done in a few ways including your navigation menu, sidebar links, and links inside page content to other pages on your site. While it is possible to use SEO on the same pages over and over, you’ll find that it’s a lot more effective when it’s pulling all this new content under its wings, tying it all together, and pushing it all up the search engine rankings.

SEO is leading the way

On-page SEO best practices allow us to communicate with search engines in a language that they can understand. Fortunately, search engines and researchers have compiled checklists based on common markup and important ranking factors. Online search is a murky world for those looking to be found at the top of Google's Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). To many users the personalization of search results is helpful and convenient, but an increasing number of users are disturbed by the extent to which the sites they encounter are being shaped by forces outside of their control. A breadcrumb is a row of internal links at the top or bottom of the page that allows visitors to quickly navigate back to a previous section or the root page. Many breadcrumbs have the most general page (usually the root page) as the first, left-most link and list the more specific sections out to the right.

Are Keywords – and Keyword Research – Dead?

If you focus on providing the best content possible for the search keywords you want to rank for, then you will rank. This means great content with articles which have a minimum of 500 words which provide answers relevant to the search query. To understand your website, Google must be able to read it. In order for this to be possible, you must make sure that your website is text based behind the scenes. In this sense content is king. Like many of the other parts of the page targeted for optimization, filenames and alt text (for ASCII languages) are best when they're short, but descriptive. Opening paragraphs shouldn’t be longer than one or two sentences. Make sure the thing you’re writing about is mentioned in the first sentence (i.e. your focus keyword or phrase). I like to bold the first paragraph to make it distinct.

Invest in SEO

Pick your permalink structure wisely. Don’t change your permalink structure for the sake of it. Incorrectly redirecting your old URLs to the new URLs might lead to problems and could get you dropped from the rankings. Figuring out which keywords you should focus on to get the most traffic to your site can be rather daunting. For many people, it’s hard to assess their chances to rank in the search engines. There are increasing opportunities to use schema markups, depending on your niche. There are numerous schema opportunities for news, recipes, and even fitness video. As time goes on, there will increasingly be more and more opportunities to use schema to enhance your website, tell Google more about your website and make how your website shows up in search results better. According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant : "The page title is still one of the most important ranking factors for Google, so you have to make sure it’s optimized correctly for every page. This means adding the relevant keyword to each particular page and making sure that your page title isn’t too long."

Anchor text links from a variety of different domains correlate with higher rankings in Google

A good trick is to dig into your Google Analytics to see the top visited pages on your site. Remember the good old days of SEO, when all that you really needed to have “valid SEO content” was a certain number of words crossed with a certain percentage targeted keywords and punctuated by a few words linking to targeted pages? Search engines display page titles in their search results. In addition, search engines use page titles in order to recognize what information the website contains. A clear, direct URL is the best route to take in order to ensure that users know what they’re getting from your website and are prepared to click on it. In many cases, this can also help your ranking as an added bonus.
