It used to be that buying backlinks as you could was a successful means of boosting your organic search results. But today, it’s definitely not good to buy them in big packages. Google has declared that if you buy bulk backlinks to improve your rankings, you're breaching their guidelines. As you know, back in the day we could build 10,000 forum profile links with exact match anchor text and rank in a few days. Unfortunately many SEOs have not changed their game to keep up with Google changes. Now 80% of your links should be brand/URL links, 10% KW links, and the other 10% long tail/nonsense KWs. Also, if you're just starting out, build less than 50 links a day. A lot of people and businesses will pour money into a professional website only to find out that visitors won’t magically begin appearing on their site. Every website has a robots.txt; this gives robots/crawlers/spiders a bunch of rules to follow, such as where they can/can’t crawl, and the pages they can/can’t index. The most time consuming aspect is building links

Google wants users the most relevant results for their search. The more relevant your content is to their search, the more likely your website will be number 1 on Google. How well written your content is and how much it brings value to the searcher is paramount to its success on Google's SERPs. It’s no secret that search engines have changed the way we search, find, and do business online. They seem to magically sort through countless web pages, find answers to your questions, and deliver results to your searches in a snap. But how do they do it? By using a few complex steps to deliver results that answer or match your search: Crawling, indexing, ranking and delivering. Content is king when it comes to SEO. You can’t have an SEO campaign without content; it’s the fuel that makes SEO work.

Establish yourself as the subject matter expert and authority about your business

Creating a guest post for a website with no traffic is a waste of time, as you won’t attract any visitors to your website after they have read the guest post. But how do you find out how much traffic a website gets? SEO doesn’t have to be hard or require an expert team to get results. If you’ve got a process and a structure, you can rank your content in search engines quite quickly. After the emergence of major updates, like Panda and Penguin, search optimizers have thrown around the term “penalty” to scare SEO novices into thinking that one simple mistake could instantly tank their site’s rankings. It’s entirely possible that Google actually uses some sort of hidden sliding scale to determine its quality score.

Google Algorithms Target Low-Quality Content

One of my firm beliefs is that Google is becoming more and more ‘human,’ and should be treated that way. This means that in all your SEO efforts, you should consider the use for us human visitors first, and then check if that aligns with any SEO recommendations. Use internal links with clear and informative anchor text. Contrary to popular belief, social media doesn't have a direct relationship with your search rankings. However, it can have an indirect bearing on the success of your SEO campaign. According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant : "Don't make the mistake like many webmasters do in targeting one main keyword for the entire website. The smart approach to SEO and positioning is to target a list of low competition, moderate demand keywords and rank well for them. This would potentially drive more targeted traffic, than to blindly hit at one main keyword."

Evaluate Your Site Speed

Targeting highly sought-after keywords can make it harder for you to rank higher in search, but this doesn’t mean that you can’t become an authority on a topic by using different phrases for the same concept. Web users are busy and they expect to find the answers to their wants, needs and questions immediately. If your site is confusing and hard to navigate, people will leave and never come back. Strive to incorporate a small handful of links to authoritative sources throughout your copy. This communicates to your readers (and to Google’s algorithms) that your content, while unique, gives credit where it’s due. Using your focus keyword in the headline can also be a good idea, but don’t try too hard to include it. Use power words and avoid redundancy to create a clear and appealing result. Aim for a headline of 55-60 characters, as this is what Google will display on the SERP.
